Gymnastics Continues to Lead the Nation

The UW-Whitewater women's gymnastics team has retained their first place national ranking from last week. They are followed closely by the entire Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Their respective rankings are as follows: La Crosse 3rd, Winona State 6th, Stout 10th, Hamline 11th, Gustavus Adolphus 12th, Oshkosh 13th, and Eau Claire 14th. Individually ranked Warhawks include Justine Weyer (Colgate/Germantown) and Ashley George (East Dubuque, IL/East Dubuque) 4th and 6th in the all-around competition, Justine Weyer (Colgate/Germantown) and Allison Nelson (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley) 3rd and 8th in the vault, Justine Weyer (Colgate/Germantown) and Ashley George (East Dubuque, IL/East Dubuque) 6th and 8th in the uneven bars, and Ashley George (East Dubuque, IL/East Dubuque) and Justine Weyer (Colgate/Germantown) 2nd and 9th on the balance beam.

UW-W's next competition will take place on Friday March 6 at 6:00 pm in Winona, Minnesota. The WIAC Championship/NCGA Regional is the warhawks last competition before the national meet on March 20-21.
