James Raffini was the last player to start on both offense and defense for the Warhawk football team. He earned second team all-conference honors his junior year while helping UW-Whitewater win the Wisconsin State University Conference championship and he was a first team pick in 1963. Raffini has also served as the UW-W freshman football coach, going undefeated in his only season (1967), and as a varsity defensive line coach for six years, helping Head Coach Forrest Perkins' 1969 and 1974 teams win WSUC titles. An instructor in educational psychology since 1969, Raffini, now a full professor at UW-Whitewater, is currently chair of the Department of Educational Foundations.
