Warhawks Give Back
By AJ Bocchini, Athletic Communications Intern
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will hold the third annual Warhawk Awards Monday, May 2, at 7:15 p.m. in the University Center's Hamilton Room on campus.
Monday's award show will be broadcast live by UWW-TV starting at 6:45 p.m. UWW-TV can be viewed
online, on Channel 100 on the UW-Whitewater campus or on Channel 96/989 for Charter customers in southeast Wisconsin.
The Warhawk Awards are a showcase of student-athlete excellence. Several UW-Whitewater student-athletes will be recognized for their accomplishments on and off the field of competition. Student-athletes and staff representing all 20 Warhawk teams are scheduled to be in attendance, along with other faculty, staff and administrators from all over campus.
Members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Warhawk Leadership Academy's Veteran Warhawks, and 2015-16 Chancellor's Scholar-Athletes will also be honored. The WLA officially launched in September.
The ESPYs-style awards program will feature a purple carpet and photo backdrop prior to the start of the ceremony, which features videos, speakers and presentation of awards.
