The Warhawks (23-4) will take on 26th-ranked Hope (Mich.) Friday at 3 p.m. in the second round.
UW-Whitewater jumped out to a quick lead on the Presidents (9-7), taking all three doubles matches in convincing fashion. Sophomore
Megan Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) and freshman
Bridgid McGuire (Slinger/Slinger) posted an 8-1 victory at No. 1, while freshmen
Alicia Beck (Bismarck, ND/St. Mary's Central) and
Jillian Wallace (Crystal Lake, IL/Central) tallied an 8-3 triumph at the second position.
Sophomore
Rachel Siemon (Crystal Lake, IL/South) and freshman
Alexandra Talyansky (Mequon/Homestead) registered an 8-2 win at the No. 3 slot.
Talyansky and Beck were the first to finish in singles. Talyansky, playing at the No. 3 slot, didn't surrender a game in a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Beck, competing at the fifth position, recorded a 6-1, 6-0 triumph to clinch the win for UW-Whitewater.
The Warhawks led in three other matches before play was halted.
