UW-Whitewater Invitational CentralThe UW-Whitewater volleyball team cruised to two wins Saturday with back-to-back sweeps. The Warhawks defeated Carroll 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-19) before routing Edgewood 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-14) in their final match of the UW-Whitewater Invitational.
The Warhawks produced their most best offense of the season against the Eagles hitting .443 with 37 kills in 70 attemps while committing just six attack errors. Senior middle
Kristen Ruchti (Brodhead/Brodhead) led UW-Whitewater at the net hitting .625 with an attack line of 11-1-16. She added a solo and two assist blocks in the match. Senior right side
Ariel Feiertag (Brown Deer/Brown Deer) and sophomore outside hitter
Lauren Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) added to the offense combining for 15 kills in 25 attempts with no errors.

Jaclyn Krizka (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah) shared match high honors with seven digs each. Pfeifer recorded four of the team's six aces in the match.
The wins come after a 1-1 outing in the first day of competition in the UW-Whitewater Invitational. The Warhawks defeated Lakeland Friday afternoon 3-0 before falling to Millikin University in the final match of the evening.
"We are very happy with the way our team bounced back," said Coach Boudreau. "We needed to clean some things up in serve-receive which we did today. It was great to see our offense produce at such a high level in this last match. We still have some things to work on this week but overall we are proud of the way our ladies were able to rebound after the loss and take both matches today."
The Warhawks return to the court next weekend with the UW-Stevens Point Invitational. UW-Whitewater is scheduled to face Ripon Friday, September 5 at 3 p.m. followed by a 5 p.m. match up with St. Norbert College. Saturday has the Warhawks facing Wisconsin Lutheran College at 10 a.m.

Millikin RecapThe 18th ranked UW-Whitewater volleyball team split a pair of matches Friday in the UW-Whitewater Invitational. The Warhawks defeated Lakeland College 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-17) in the afternoon before falling to Millikin University 3-1 (25-21, 25-21, 17-25, 25-21) Friday evening.
The Warhawks out-hit Millikin registering 50 kills including an attack percentage of .276 to the Big Blue's 49 kills. The UW-Whitewater defensive front posted 10 blocks and held the MU hitters to an attack percentage of .206. Serve-receive provided the difference in the match. The Warhawks committed 14 service errors and 14 reception errors compared to Millikin's combined 13 errors.
Sophomore middle blocker
Sydney Toon (Madison/Middleton) had a breakout match against the Big Blue. She hit .727 hammering down eight kills in 11 attemps with no attack errors while adding two solo and five assist blocks in the loss. Sophomore outside hitter
Lauren Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) led the Warhawks with 16 kills while committing just one error in 33 attempts.

Jaclyn Krizka (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah) added 11 to the Warhawks' dig tally. Nobilio has recorded 98 career matches with 10 or more digs in her career, just four matches shy of tying the program record.
UW-Whitewater will return to the court Saturday with two matches to wrap up the invitational. The Warhawks are set to take on Carroll at 10 a.m. and Edgewood College at 2 p.m. in Russell Arena.
Lakeland RecapThe Warhawk volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-17) over Lakeland College to open the 2014 season in the first match of the UW-Whitewater Invitational.
The Warhawks hit .370 pounding down 36 kills and held the Muskies to a .000 attack percentage and just 23 kills in three sets. Defensively at the net, UW-Whitewater recorded 10 blocks while LC posted just two.

Jessica Sabey (Merrill/Merrill) led the way with eight kills in 19 attempts without committing an error for an attack percentage of .421. Three Warhawks posted seven kills each including senior right side
