At the conclusion of the NCAA III championship game in Salem, Virginia Saturday it was announced that Warhawk head coach
Pat Miller was named
D3hoops.com Coach of the Year and senior center
Chris Davis (Madison/East) was selected D3hoops.com Player of the Year. Miller adds the honor to his WIAC Coach of the Year and D3hoops.com West Region Coach of the Year trophies. Davis' trophy case now includes all major awards given to a player in Division III basketball. Davis is the first Warhawk player named national player of the year.

Chris Davis (Madison/East) has been named to the D3hoops.com All-America First Team. Previously Davis earned National Association of Basketball Coaches All-America First Team honors, was named D3hoops.com West Region Player of the Year and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
Davis is the eighth UW-W player named to an All-America first team. The group includes Robert Barnes (1987), Duane Vance (1988), Ricky Spicer (1990), Ty Evans (1993 and 1994), James Stewart (1997), Matt Goodwin (2008) and Dustin Mitchell (2010).

Pat Miller have earned postseason honors from the
National Association of Basketball Coaches and
D3hoops.com. Davis earned All-America first team honors from the NABC and was named Player of the Year in the West Region by both organizations. Miller was named Coach of the Year in the West Region by both organizations as well.
Davis is averaging 22.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Both figures led the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. He shoots .554 from the floor and .876 from the free throw line. Davis' inside game is complimented by .418 shooting from three point range, where he makes two threes per game. His 2011-2012 numbers ranked among the top ten in the UW-W record book for points, free throw percentage, field goals made, and scoring average. He has eight double doubles this season. Davis was named UW-Whitewater Walmart Player of the Week five times this season, and he earned the
WIAC's Player of the Year Award.
Miller also won the trifecta, capturing Division III Coach of the Year honors from the NABC and D3hoops.com as well as the
WIAC Coach of the Year honor. In his eleventh year heading the program, Miller has directed the team to the second highest victory total, and second highest winning percentage, in school history. The Warhawks' 27-4 mark includes the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship, a top ten ranking in the national poll, and a berth in the NCAA III championship tournament -- where UW-W has advanced to
the final four.
Miller and Davis will travel to Salem, Virginia for the
NCAA III tournament semifinal and final, Friday-Saturday March 16-17. The Warhawks are scheduled to face MIT at 8:00 (Eastern) in a semifinal Friday, with the championship game set for Saturday at 7:00 at the Salem Civic Center.
