Davis, Miller Head All-WIAC Team

UW-Whitewater senior center Chris Davis (Madison/East) and head coach Pat Miller head the 2012 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Team.  Davis was named Player of the Year and Miller received Coach of the Year honors.  Junior forward Luke Knoble (Boscobel/Boscobel) joined Davis on the first team, sophomore guard Eric Bryson (Elkhorn/Elkhorn) was an honorable mention selection, and junior forward Lucas Burns (Janesville/Craig) is UW-Whitewater's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Davis repeated the First Team recognition he received in 2011.  He is the top scorer (22.2) and rebounder (8.4) in the WIAC.  He is also among the top ten in free throw percentage (second, .882), three point percentage (fourth, .424), blocked shots (sixth, 0.64), field goal percentage (seventh, .540) and steals (tenth, 1.16).  Davis scored a season high 41 points against UW-Stevens Point December 14, and twice grabbed 13 rebounds, versus Willamette December 20 and versus UW-Eau Claire January 28.  For previous UW-W WIAC Player of the Year recipients see below.

Knoble is Whitewater's number two scorer (10.7) and rebounder (4.8).  He is fourteenth in scoring in the league and sixteenth in rebounding.  He is also the WIAC leader in field goal accuracy at .652.  Knoble has scored in double figures 19 times, with a season high 19 points at home against UW-La Crosse February 24 in the WIAC Tournament.  He also hit double figures in rebounds with ten in the season opener November 18against Concordia (IL).

Bryson was the only Warhawk to start every game, and the only player on the team to play in the game.  He averaged 8.7 points per game, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting .543 from the field.
Burns was chosen as the Warhawks' Sportsmanship Team member.  Each of the nine schools named one player who exemplified the league's commitment to character.

The Warhawks won the 2012 WIAC championship and earned a berth in the NCAA III championship tournament.  UW-W, 23-4, will open play in the national tourney at home, hosting a regional Friday-Saturday, March 2-3 in Kachel Gym in Williams Center.  UW-W will face Northwestern College (MN) Friday at 7:30 in the second game of a doubleheader.
