On Friday October 14 at 7:00 pm, UW Residence Life is sponsoring Friday Night Lights: UW-W vs. UW-Stout at Perkins Stadium.

There will be a free tailgate prior to kickoff for all UW-W students with a valid school ID, located between the softball facility and the Perkins Stadium parking lot.  Free food and beverages will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Students will also be able to get prepared for the game at the spirit station, where free face and body paint, beads, Warhawk tattoos, and purple and white hairspray will be offered.  In addition, students can take a picture with the National Championship Trophy. The highlight of the tailgate will be a bean bag tournament sponsored by Northwestern Mutual, including cash prizes given  to the first, second, and third place teams by Northwestern Mutual. To enter, contact Leah Thyne at thynel@uww.edu. Entrants must bring a nonperishable food item.

The student tailgate is also sponsored by University Dining and SEAL. At the beginning of the game the marketing staff will be distributing 300 light-up thunderstix to the student section. To cap off the night, there will be a postgame firework show put on by Residence Life.

The game will be the first game to take place under the new lights of Perkins Stadium. After a storm destroyed lights in the stadium during the off season, UW-Whitewater decided to replace all the lights in the stadium with next generation lights.
