Tincher Heads Postseason Honor List

Senior lefthander Riley Tincher (Oregon/Oregon) was named American Baseball Coaches Association Division III Second Team All-America, heading a group of seven Warhawks to earn ABCA postseason honors.

Tincher's selection marks the eighth time a UW-W pitcher has been named to an all-American team.  Kris Hanson was the first in 1993, followed by Kyle Karvala in 1994, Brady Endl (utility) 2002, Kevin Tomasiewicz in 2003, Endl again in 2004, and Tomasiewicz and Greg Reinhard (2005).

Tincher also led the ABCA Division III All-Midwest Region team, earning the distinction as the region's Pitcher of the Year.  He was joined on the all-region first team by outfielder Jordan Stine (Merrill/Merrill ), catcher Rob Coe (Appleton/North), and Jeff Donovan (Wauwatosa/East), who was named at a utility spot after playing first base and pitching for the Warhawks.  UW-W second baseman Ben Kuhlman and righty Jason Hooper (Lake Mills/Lake Mills) were second team, and shortstop Mike Kenseth (Milwaukee/West Allis Hale) was named to the third team.

Tincher (junior, Oregon, WI) went 13-1 with a 3.87 earned run average.  He struck 78 and walked 16 in his team leading 102.1 innings.  He had a team high 11 strikeouts vs. UW-Superior May 3, and did not make a fielding error all season.  Stine (senior, Merrill) batted .379 with 48 RBI's and a team best 19 stolen bases.  He led UW-W with 25 multi-hit games and a 14 game hitting streak.  Six of his RBI's came against Salem State March 21.  Coe (junior, Appleton/North) led UW-W regulars with a .380 batting average while also contributing 5 home runs and 40 runs batted in.  He had 21 multi-hit games for the Warhawks.  Donovan, a D3baseball.com Second Team All-American, led UW-W with 13 home runs, 68 runs batted in, and 38 walks.  He also went 4-1 with a 3.79 ERA.

Kuhlmann (sr, Minneapolis, MN/Southwest) and Kenseth (senior, Milwaukee/West Allis Hale) combined to form one of the most potent up-the-middle combinations in Division III.   Kuhlmann batted .333 with 7 home runs and 56 runs batted in, along with 8 stolen bases.  Kenseth batted .343 with a pair of homers, 35 runs driven in, and 13 steals.  Kuhlmann tied Donovan with 17 multi-RBI games and had 19 multi-hit games.  Kenseth was close behind with 18 multi-hit contests.

Hooper (senior, Lake Mills) joined Tincher to form Whitewater's 1-2 on the mound.  He went 7-3 with a 3.91 ERA, striking out 69 and walking 32.

Coe, Donovan, Hooper, Stine and Tincher were also First Team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference picks.

UW-W compiled a 42-7 record, winning the WAIC championship and the WIAC postseason tournament.  The Warhawks advanced to the regional final, the final sixteen, of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III championship tournament.
