Shelby Demos (Janesville/Parker) earned All-America honors with a sixth place finish in the high jump at the
National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship hosted by DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana Friday.

Demos, the school indoor record holder in the high jump, went 5-5.25 Friday. La'shonda Carter of New Jersey City University won the event with a jump of 5-7.75. Demos is the first woman in UW-W history to earn place in a national meet, indoor or outdoor, in the high jump.
UW-W had several other national qualifiers competing Friday.
Sara Poppe (Germantown/Kettle Moraine Lutheran) went 17-1.5 in the long jump, but did not qualify for the finals, which were won by Skye Morrison of Wartburg College at 17-11.75. Poppe will be in action again Saturday, having also qualified for the triple jump.
Jessa Luebke (Tomah/Tomah) went 54-3.75 in the weight throw, but did not advance to the finals. Holly Ozanich of UW-Oshkosh won the weight throw with a distance of 64-5.25.
Brooke Bell (Milwaukee/Alexander Hamilton) ran in the 55 meter preliminaries and was timed in 7.22. Bell will not advance to Saturday's finals. Callen Martin of Wilmington College led the field in the prelims with a time of 7.05. Bell, a three-time all-American outdoors, is the UW-W 55 meter record holder at 7.10, her qualifying time for the national indoor meet. She also made it to the national meet in the 55 in 2008.
The NCAA III indoor championship will conclude Saturday.
