The team matchup featured three nationally ranked wrestlers and all three won. Whitewater's Austin Bautista, number one in Division III at 141 pounds, raised his record to 30-2 with a win. Bautista is just three wins away from tying Rob Llorca's school record of 133 career wins. Point's Joe Mileski, ranked eighth at 125, and second ranked Ben Engelland at 184 also won.
UW-W also picked up points from Kyle Wachholder at 133 (19-10 this season), Matt Schuck at 149 (13-14), Corey Schmidt at 157 (7-9), Adam Latella at 197 (19-9) and heavyweight Jon Schmidt (8-3).
The Warhawks are 7-4-1 in dual meets, 3-1 versus Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competition.
UW-W will compete in the Blugold Invite hosted by UW-Eau Claire Saturday, February 6. The Warhawks' final home appearance of the season will be Thursday, February 11 at 7:00 in Williams Center versus UW-Platteville.
