Kayla Schmidt (Johnston, IA/Johnston) finished eighth in the individual standings and the Warhawks finished eighth in the team standings at the FDU Fright Knight Invite in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. The Warhawks had an overall win-loss record of 7-6 giving them the six seed for bracket play. The top four seeds were in the championship bracket, the middle four in the gold consolation bracket, and the bottom four in the silver consolation bracket. The 'Hawks lost to New Jersey City in the first round of bracket play and then lost to Sacred Heart in the second round to wind up eighth overall.

Kayla Schmidt (Johnston, IA/Johnston) finished eighth overall in the individual standings with a average pinfall of 190.50. Schmidt bowled games of 196, 214, 188, 161, 188, and 196. Schmidt averages a 189.50 for the season, the highest on the team.
The tournament set-up included five Baker rounds on Friday, six team games on Saturday, and then Baker rounds for bracket play on Sunday. At the tournament the 'Hawks bowled their second highest team game score of the year with a 903 in their fourth match on Saturday. Their traditional pinfall total on Saturday was 5,162. That total was added to their Baker total of 3,493 from Friday to give put them in sixth place going into the final day of competition.
Whitney Kueltzo (Homer Glen, IL/Lockport Township) bowled a 221 in one game on Saturday to aid her team to victory over Delaware State who ended up winning the tournament. Maryland Eastern Shore finished second, host Fairleigh Dickinson third, Kutztown fourth and Adelphi fifth.
The top individual finisher was Maria Rodriguez (Maryland Eastern Shore) who bowled an average of 225.33, almost 25 pins higher than her nearest competitor. Rounding out the top five were Nicole Drejerwski (New Jersey City) with a 201.00 average, Kayla Stamm (Kutztown) with a 196.50 average, Erica Perez (Fairleigh Dickinson) with a 195.50 average, and Sara Litteral (Fairleigh Dickinson) with a 195.33 average.
UW-W will host a tournament next weekend, November 7 and 8, in Madison.
